Sick leave during the holidays: are there any special features?

Absolutely none. Calculate the allowance for the holiday period in the general order. This also applies to cases when the hospital was open on a public holiday. After all, the allowance is assigned for all calendar days of illness, with some exceptions, to which holidays do not apply (Part 8 of Article 6, part 1 of Article 9 of the law “On Insurance against INIM” dated 12/29/2006 No. 255-FZ).

For example, an employee got sick on January 3 and checked out on the 14th. He is entitled to an allowance for all 12 days of illness, including non-working days of the New Year holidays.

And if an employee took a vacation on holidays and got sick, the vacation should be extended or rescheduled as usual.

In this case, the allowance is also paid for all calendar days, including weekends and holidays, falling during the period of illness (see letter No. 02-09-14/15-03-31170 of the Federal Tax Service of the Russian Federation dated 11/30/2020).
